hello and welcome!
Hi there! My name is Rach. I’m a multi-disciplinary artist based in Shropshire, ENGLAND. Here I am as a kid, and here I am a few years later, enjoying a veggie full english.
Although I work with lots of of different materials, I would say printmaking, ceramics and painting are my three main loves. Because my processes are so varied, all of my work seems to centre around the same themes of fun, joy and laughter. Little happy faces also feature a lot.
The ‘press’ bit of my name links to my printing press, of which I now have two! The printing presses are integral to both letterpress and linocut prints, to achieve a crisp and even finish. Letterpress printing requires a lot of pressure to transfer the ink to the paper.
I think the action of pressing is important in all of my work, from pressing stamps into clay, to adding an inky face to my prints.

In 2018 I did an Art Foundation at Kingston School of Art, specialising in Visual Communication. I then studied Illustration at Norwich University of the Arts, specialising in Printmaking. I wrote my dissertation on the link between comedy and Dadaism, and this humorous influence has been incorporated into much of my work ever since.
I completed an Art and Design PGCE in Secondary Education in 2022, and in 2023 was an Art Fellow at Shrewsbury School. I now balance a part time job with my artwork, and love working and making at The Claypit as a part-time technician.

I have worked with Norwich Science Festival, The Broads Society and The Tyndall Centre, on projects relating to animals and our environment.
I have most recently worked with Barnard Publishing on a poetry anthology book cover by Arabella Emms. I am also a member of People of Print, and work freelance on letterpress and landscape painting commissions.
